Does anybody know of any precedents related to perfmormative architecture? even if it is outside the architectural field?
I am undertaking a project which explores the possibilities provided by the subtle manipulation of existing behavioural patterns.
for instance, on an open hilltop lookout, where cars parked anywhere, small rocks were used to mark out a row of car parks. This lead to an increase in the number of people leaving their cars to walk around the lookout.
I am talking about the manipulation of behavioural patterns over time, as opposed to in one go. As if the building will take 100yrs(or forever) to build as opposed to 5 mths. a place constantly in flux, responding to its users behaviours.
