Can someone tell me where I can find some simple pendant light fixtures for over an kitchen island. I wish I could draw what I'm looking for here...sort of like a 16 inch in diameter flattened bell? :-/
if it's period/old-looking lighting you're looking for, check rejuvenation.
this one from icollector is pretty nice. (page too slow to load; i didn't follow-through):

a nice pictorial so that you can lead us closer to what you want.
Yep, Rejuvenation is stop #1 to check - not only excellent reproduction pieces, but they are known for being model employers: treat their employees really well, reimburse mass transit costs for them, have a home-buying program to help them get into their first home, are located in downtown Portland, are one of the first companies to make recycling a major initiative, AND their customer service is beyond perfect.
Thank you everyone! I'm working my way through circa lighting..nice site but $$$$...everything I like is $$$$. Rejuvenation is a great site and it's nice to hear that they treat their employees well. If I lived in the area I would want to work there.
Our house is a simple old tiny farm style cape and so far everything we've added has been antique "junk" that we just liked or just inexpensive reproductions.
Steve...the pendant light is close but picture something a little more "graceful" flatter at the widest dimension and darker either bronze or iron. I did find something close but the inside was white...yuk.
Thanks again!
Cheers.

Please shop there, everyone.
the first thing i thought of was thomas o'briens collection for visual comfort. the eugene pendant listed on this page comes in three different sizes.
