spa and pool floors

French

Hello friends necteurs
I have another very specific and challenging question for you guys.
We're still working on our project. Other than the fact that it's been postponed for at least three months, things are going well.
We're working right now on the interior desing of a spa. We've been searching for different materials for the floor of the main pool, but for security and durability reasons, the only alternatives we've found are stone, mosaic, or wood.
Does anybody knows any interesting spa, other than the Vals bath, using these materials or others?
Thanks again for all your help....

not sure the flooring is particularly interesting, but you could check out tod williams and billie tsien's natatorium at cranbrook. generally a nice material palette.

we used pebbletec on a public pool that was just finished last year... we used the pebbletec fina which is more of a standard pool finish... for your purpose the regular pebbletec or pebbletec sheen might be better...

there is recycled glass terrazzo which can be beautiful, just depends on the glass...

terrazzo would be a fantastic alternative, many of the hot spas in Jamaica used them when designed in the 70s and they are still around and look new / fantastic.

i like limestone. there's something resonating about sealife embeded in an ancient material, and its relationship with water that just feels right.

sure
but I guess we're trying to get away from the outstanding image of the zumthor bath, so I guess we'll stick to mosaic tiles for now. Until we get tired of it and change our minds. We'd like to use the tiling of the mosaic to create a pixellated anamorphic image in the whole space, since it's strongly oriented and linear, to reinforce the general geometry of the space by forcing the viewpoint towards an image.
But maybe that'll be too complex and expensive. I think bisazza offers custom design patterns, but I don't knwo if they would follow us on that one. And they're really expensive too...
