well they now do... it seems that every firm with national aspirations is trying to get into the LA pond. then there is the trend for the AE firms down in orangistan to move up to LA county since that sprawl from hell has been built out.
they have several projects currently underway at UCSF, and they were just awarded the Stanford hospital job in palo alto. and yes, rafael vinoly (RV's nephew with the same name) is one of the only ones out there as of yet, i believe. good luck to them!
Yes, RV the nephew, recently left LMN architects in Seattle to open the west coast office.... I understand he is the only one, but he has two secretaries!
