uzshef.
either you're parallel38 or you're being ridiculous.
there are no tough or important claims.
there was a whole thread on this topic before..which i believe was
deleted...there's no reason to bring it up again. especially when
the person who brought it up the first time has brought it up again.
it fosters no intelligent discussion and is only rumor, innuendo and
mudslingling from a completely anonymous source who admittedly
does not attend the school and has seemingly personal reasons
for disliking the school that do not belong on a public forum.
since you also have admitted that you're not going there i see no
reason for your over interest other than you're parallel38 as well
or you're one of their friends.
larslarson what the #@ is wrong with you
the way you're reacting keeps making para look even more credible (no matter how angry and dillusional he/she/they sound on the surface) what happened last year...I have no clue...so to me it is interesting
I read your angry reaction....if this whole "Yale Blows" thing was just nonsense, you wouldn't be motivated to write something about it....you could ignore it
uzshef, at this point I can't be convinced that you're not parallel38. Please don't even try.
Not that my opinion would matter to you, because I also firmly believe that Yale does not blow.
... is only rumor, innuendo and

Totally accurate words. Please let's let it drop everyone, including me.
I'm not this infamous parallel38...but I am amazed at this sort of witch hunt. If someone makes a claim (beyond using cocaine or what type of food they like) they're ripped. If someone like me tries to be reasonable (look the word up) they're immediately accused and ripped. I'm amazed at how much anger one person (or persons) can stir up. (Plus, double negatives are a no no)
ah poor little erasmus, hopefully you won't end up at Herb's or another crap Yalie production firm....stay strong, you'll make it through. We decided to erase the mailing addresses attached to parallel38, someone came close to "breaking in" ;-) besides, para2 sounds so sleek and witty
By the way, which one of you post-pros worked for Joel Sanders before "getting in"
i will be happy to answer any "yale blows" questions at the yale open house for people who are actually considering attending yale. i think it is great para2 wants to raise some critical and sensitive issues. let her (still female right?) speak, keep an open mind, and hear the opinion of someone who is in the program when you get to new haven. i can't deny eveything para2 is going to throw on here and i won't, but i will give another opinion when and where it is needed.
wait, i am interested in applying to yale next year - in fact, i think it might be my number one choice. i want some more info on why this school blows.
some of my profs from undergrad went their for grad school and they were wealths of knowledge. i've checked out their curriculum and it seems the program is a good mix of what i want and what i need.
I do want to point out, however, that although I dislike his work, architectural talent/decisions really play very little on how he runs a school...for the most part...
If he is open to new technologies and new methods then he could actually run a top tier school, thus Yale may actually not blow because of him.
Still...it gives you a sense of his vision....and decision making
I have to say, I really like the work produced by GSD’s faculty than I do Yale’s. Plus Yale has this weird “New Urbanism” methodology
...and yet the University of Michigan has a dean that, I would argue, is a big proponent of the "New Urbanism" stuff...but the program, I would say, is still very progressive...mainly because the chair of the program is Tom Buresh...and the faculty is young and very diverse...
The other thing to remember in this case is that U of Mich's Dean is a planner, not an architect. Perhaps if he were an architect, things would be different...
I think most schools welcome New Urbanism in some fashion (even the GSD, but they're much more critical), but Yale seems to be a "NU school"...not good
this thread is beyond retarded. have any of you read robert stern's dean message? his work as a professional has absolutely nothing to do with the work coming out of the school and to say that it does is assinine.
Yale Blows 07

can anyone post the old stuff?
No.
uzshef.
how does what i said make para seem 'more credible'
please read my post because you obviously didn't the first time.
I read your angry reaction....if this whole "Yale Blows" thing was just nonsense, you wouldn't be motivated to write something about it....you could ignore it
don't fight, you're both pretty!
"About 2 tbsp of cocoa in a mug full of heated rice milk"
speaking of rice milk...

have fun everyone.
I think "FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF BEEF" sounds a lot sleeker and wittier than "para2".
Nice gesture erasmus.
YSOA apps, print the questions above and bring them to the open house
erasmus are you a MArch I or II student at Yale?
neat, are you going to the YSOA open house? I intend on at least visiting the school
is that the greek para, or the latin para???
erasmus?
churnin'
uzshef, I'll talk to you on big grad school thread...
ok
I'll email you
c'mon that 's pretty good. between that and the butt-plug thread, this Friday night's alright for fighting

spill the dirty beans on them. please.
its pretty ridiculous how much americans dig the 'organic' shit
Yale Blows part 2 is just not good enough..cmon guys ,Im waiting for the blood.
Yale gives you a crazy salespitch at the open house. Worse than a used car dealership.
experience not education is what counts, move to AZ to get your license after working 6 years with/under architect(s)
institutions mold you are you are you want to fit a mold?!
there is better ways to learn than through conformity and stricture.
Random Stern Questions
When was the last time you won an AIA award?
How many Yale grads do you employ after graduatio....the whole class, or just half of it?
When you’re not selected for a project, do you scream and whine in public, or do you accept it and move on?
Perhaps this thread should be re-titled:
"Stern Blows '07"
I'm making this assumption from the one project I've seen in person.
Believe me, it IS twice as large as it appears in this rendering and the detailing doesn’t look authentic at all...
a real joke...
Rice Milk
Is that an actual Stern project (I hope you're kidding)
If so, where is it?
Yes, it is.
It's the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan.
Corner of State and Hill...you can't miss it.
check out this link to his work

hmmmmm...I don't really know what a New Urbanism school means exactly.
uzshef you are not fooling anybody.
?
New Urbanism derived from Yale, right?
Isn't the GSD's dean a planner as well?
I believe so
this thread is beyond retarded. have any of you read robert stern's dean message? his work as a professional has absolutely nothing to do with the work coming out of the school and to say that it does is assinine.
cpnorris
I don't agree with your comment, especially in Stern's case. Yale has this creepy "Boy's Club" feel to it.
