Ok, so I know this is mundane, but does anyone know if there is a standard for electrical symbols. I've looked around at different CAD libraries, and alot of them use different symbols for the same thing. And I've worked with different elec. engineers and they don't consistently use the same ones either. To top it off, my firm tends to make our own up.
the National CAD Standard contains an extensive section on electrical symbols ... the whole purpose of the NCS is to bring increased standardization to the way we present common construction information on our drawings ... see National CAD Standard for purchase information.

check graphic standards
That's the first place I checked, and it seems their symbols are used the least.
then go with whatever looks best and conveys the information clearly.
as long as you have a legend, who cares...
