i went to ninja temple a few years back, in kanazawa. real secret stairs and stuff all over the place. very cool, but not actually involving ninjas, just regular warfare a few hundred years ago. they added the name ninja to the place to bring in the suckas....sorta like the people who buy nunchucks...

actually, my daughter makes some pretty cool origami shurikens (all 6 year olds in japan can make all kinds of crazy stuff out of paper; it is amazing). anyway, maybe try same for the numchucks.

oh man this reminds me of a really bad book - it was called 'the ninja' - that my dork circle of friends were reading. Imagine a book 'the architect' that promoted superhuman spatial cognition and unerring construction knowledge.

i should add that was in high school - I'm sure quite a few of them are now 'blind-something-or-other' but not from weaponry

If you want to be a real ninja, then you have to come to terms with the fact that it is an adventure that is filled with pain, exhaustion, and at times, misery. Did you think that it was just gonna come to you all easy like. Forget about it. You gotta work hard. You gotta wake up in the morning and say, "Heh, what am I gonna do today to make me the best ninja that I can be". If that means you gotta hit yourself a few times with a set of nunchucks, well then dammit that is just what it is gonna take.

numb chucks aren't real weapons...in my 7 years + of martial arts they were never used, but for exhibitions and on the walls as decorations.

at 14 years+ of age the durham police shure (whay!) thought different. should have told them about FROCCLI's dynamite comment and toshiro mifune, who farts in ninjii's general direction - remember sanjuro? it was 'the apple-dumpling gang meets yojimbo' kind of hilarious

theres some ninja challenge show on TV (think American Gladiators mixed with the Double Dare physical challenge). I was fully impressed by the stuff they were doing.
