Sotthi: nothing published (or publishable... or sent to the like). I enjoy writing though. Sorta discursive non-fiction; hypotheses on the everyday cosmos. ;-)
And 'verse' of course, when I'm in the mood - I wouldn't go so far as to call it poetry - more 'non-prose'.
Domenico's just so *human* though... his sonatas are just like characters in a soap opera: he seems to get real angry at one point, but a kind of beautiful anger. One of Bach's partitias for solo violin is in a league of its own, though and the build-up to Handel's 'Zadok the Priest' is awesome.
'Composer' is maybe stretching things a bit. It's just that I was studying History of Music at the time so it was my stuff was written as notes on a stave rather than me being 'in a band'. It sort of veered between nursery-rhyme kitsch and oodly electronica. And yeah, I ultimately draw little distinction between music and architecture: both are structurally similar, with music more emotionally eloquent and architecture is placed differently in 'space' but, um... will end up talking sh**te so I'll stop there ;-)
(btw, I keep verse very privat, coz people would laugh and it's delicate. You don't understand! You don't understand! I'd have to wail in its defence and it ain't worth the humiliating grief...)
Domenico's sonatas exude a saturnine air, sometimes warm, sometimes melancholic [k.11, 32, etc.]; not as heavy as Dowland though.
A colleague of mine once remarked to me, studying the history of Music is likely to make one very philosophical! kind of like studying the history of time, an aporia. I think there's some truth to that. 'Hypotheses on the everyday cosmos' is a very telling symptom!...
And did you say delicate verse and humiliation? oh oh, then with malicious joy, I have to press you for one!
Only kidding. lol
Am on travel, catch up later here. Thanks for sharing.
I suppose I would've preferred the Renaissance, when the word 'dilettante' wasn't an insult, heh. 'Aporia' I had to look up ;-)
Curiosity / a delight in the unknown / an addictive-compulsive 'world is not enough' syndrome probably gets me places I shouldn't but also to the discovery of 'Premier Accordion Band Goes Hawaii'.
Not to break a good joke, but looking for gentlemen among architects ,be advised if is a "Sir." then do not see this as a gurantie for a gentleman . With some quite the opposite.
thanks tw, that actually IS the way i did it those times it came up completely blank (as in the do-dee-do post - below that i had used the bracketed img command as shown below the post-it box)!
i'm thinking maybe there's something wrong with the flickr image that i'm trying to use...

Solidred, thanks.
I didn't come across any verse.
I note you are a composer too? What's the experience like shifting between music and composing forms in architecture?
I think Scarlatti was overshadowed by the other two giants Bach and Handel.
