I went to see The Last Kiss, and in it, Zach Braff plays an architect.
There are a couple office scenes where they show his computer screen behind him and there is some kind of architectural software up on it. Does anyone know what it is? I know this is completely geeky, but it'd driving me crazy.
haven't seen it, but maybe it was the ARE software and he was working on that ARE-software design competition. the challenge: 'we dare you to try to design something that doesn't suck using this software.'
Wonderk, do you have a gigantic crush on him too?
I love Zach Braff. It was pretty hard to retain my crush on him after seeing the last kiss, but i managed.
thank you for the amusing clips, vado.
Yes, it's the remake of the italian movie "L'ultimo bacio" by Muccino.
I heard that the screenplay has only been translated with no add ons by the new director.
I want to see it, because the italian version was so boring to death, while the american version trailer seems better so far.
One of my pet hates in movies is the "made for movie fake software screen shot". Typically it is ugly, unfashionable, overly big, unrepresentative of 'real' software environments, and silly.
Scrubs is just the best show. Just the best. The curly haired guy's name escapes me at the moment but I think he does an outstanding job.
And yes I too have a crush on Zach Braff, I just hope i never meet him in person because I'll probably find a scrawny 5'-6" 120-pound guy. They are all so short in reality.
can we have a movie where an architect - preferably high profile one - gets murdered with horse head bookends, while on a panty raid at Omega Mu - UCLA???
is the architect killed while going to the panty raid or while he is at the panty raid? because if he is killed at the panty raid, although the death may be ruled a homicide, it may not necessisarily be deemed a murder!
I've seen it - not bad, but it's awful for a date movie, especially a first date movie. Walking out of the theater with my wife, we heard a bunch of couples out on dates discussing the movie with the girlfriends asking, "You'd never cheat on me, right?" It was hilarious to watch the boyfriends try to dodge that question...
No architecture to speak of, aside from spotting some waaaaaay outdated Sweets catalogs in the background and some drafting tables.
Scrubs is done - hasn't been funny at all lately (I think they have new writers) I don't expect it to be back.
BTW, I'm 3" taller than Zach Braff and have more muscles...
Yeah, I saw it with my boyfriend and we definitely had a chat afterwards about cheating. That was kind of a downer, but it was also enlightening I guess.
I thought the architectural discussion about the "atrium with the trees and birds" was hilarious.
souper- that's funny...
I can imagine the director telling the production designer- 'yeah, I want a really cool atrium, the kind with trees and birds'. So now they have to go out and find some birds (at $1000/day/bird) to stick in the set. Of course this makes continuity and editing really difficult because the birds don't sit still and fly all over the place between takes. So one minute there's a bird to the left behind the charecter, then in the next shot, the bird is gone... then there is the problem with droppings on the camera and squawking in the middle of a take ruining the sound...
thank god I got out of the film industry- I'm having flashbacks just writing about this.
Oh, most movie stars are really, really short. For one film, we had to build a special platform behind a bar for the star, just so he could be seen...
Thats one of the many things that annoy me on movies - they feel the need to make computer software look more "realistic" by not actually showing what we work on, but getting some codemonkey to come up with a a graphic interface that usually looks like it came out of the original Battlestar Galactica, with oversize fonts and unusual logos.
I know, because when I did some work on a film about an architect, thats what I had to do. Film people are idiots mostly.
I was watching Firewall this passed weekend and had similar thoughts when she was using a modern hand drafting device to do a perspective...the only scene with her being an architect. I thought it was such bullocks/
did any of you catch that his girlfriend was Jacinda Barrett from Real World London? She was the only real world cast member who didn't whore herself off into a reality show stupor.
Anyway, I actually enjoyed that movie because, like wonderk, I am completely enamored with Zack Braff. Actually, he could probably just sit there and stare at the screen and I'd enjoy it.
Has anyone else noticed that Zach Braff's been whoring himself for commercials? He's the voice of the gold lab puppy in those toilet paper commercials and I swear that I heard his voice talking about Wendy's cheeseburgers in their recent ads!!!
You all have it wrong - Rachel Bilson makes that movie watchable...
nope
its zach
he's so dreamy.
and who could turn down a boat load of money to be the voice of a puppy? i would do it and laugh all the way to the bank!
he doesn't really cheat in the movie - much of that happened after the fact. Its cold nonetheless and proves my point about relationships an ounce of doubt like a hair can break a camel's back
and by the way 20 something coeds are such trouble...

OH no! He's a cheater? But I love him. He can't play a cheater. Boo.

It might be arris, it's been a few years since I used that program but that is what first came to mind when I saw it.
is the architect killed while going to the panty raid or while he is at the panty raid? because if he is killed at the panty raid, although the death may be ruled a homicide, it may not necessisarily be deemed a murder!
killed at the panty raid of course...
WonderK-
I hear he is very tall in person.
accordin to imbd zach is 6'-0 1/2" which makes him a tad shorter than me. he's got more money of course.

haven't seen the movie, but that's a pretty great sequence, dammson. man, that guy REALLY doesn't want to go to work, huh?
this movie sucked so bad. and not just because of the ricockulous architecture scenes.
i really liked the movie. great storyline, acting, and an even better soundtrack.
if you want to talk of a really bad portrayal of an architectural firm in a movie, just watch adam sandler's Click. wow, now that sucked.
yeah ECA03, but it had "the hoff"
The college chick Zach is with reminded me so much of an ex. I got a (surreal) kick outta the movie.
it was dreckolicious.
