pecha kucha nyc was great - excellent turnout (+/- 500 people), great location, and interesting presentations. i wish i had two more hands so i could give "dear reader" magazine's cynthia and beverly four thumbs up (thank you d. chapelle).
does any one think that world domination might occur via pecha kucha overload? :)
fantastic idea, but its tokyo, london, sydney, hobart, nyc, la, shanghai......
(let me know elsewhere if there has been or is due)
globlisation YAY! showing local content YAY! but... i need to take a breath!!!!
its gossip, its chit-chat, I can only hold on for 20 seconds...
ya, she was VERY entertaining, and that statement definitely got a lot of laughter. i was a bit out of the loop because i don't think i ever saw the thread she was referring to...nevertheless, her presentation was definitely a highlight.
i really enjoyed the presentations by Enrique Norten, Craig Dykers (Snohetta) and Jose Parla as well...not to mention the visually compelling (and somewhat spastic) transparency-projected-on-the-ceiling presentation by Mariah Robertson...
Despite the heat it was great. Annie Choi and Mariah were hilarious, and the rest inspiring and fun. I loved Andrew Zago's presentation as well. I wonder what happened to the Stella?
i was slightly disappointed by "Budweiser select" instead of Stella, also having to go to the bar across the street because the bathroom lines were 45 min wait...
I really liked Enrique's presentation as well, i didnt really know what to expect from him. I liked Zago's sarcastic approach but at some points it sort of rubbed me the wrong way. I really enjoyed both of the graffiti inspired presentations, especially José Parlá's.
i think the presentations that always work the best for this event are the ones that go beyond simply speaking about a project and offer something more, be it humor, philosophy, tangents, salaries.. etc

so when it says "sponsored by stella" will that mean that it's finally an open bar? i'm being unrealistically optomistic here, i know...
I wonder how Annie Choi's reception will be...
