a Zaha too far?

Becker
Zaha's Z-car concept

I am pondering the credibility of Zaha's attempts at car design with her Z-car concept. i read that she doesn't even drive?

and how come her static buildings look more dynamic than her mobile car?

Did she even design it herself?

I much prefer the Ross Lovegrove car (same link)

I don't think that she actually design this stuff herself.
I'm pretty confident that she has a large studio stuffed of industrial designers.

That car looks like some piece of crap a 4th grader would design in art class. I like those Nissan Cubes though. THey ave a cool asymetrical rear window.

I am surprised that this car is news now. The Z-car 1:3 scale model and associated visualisations were in an exhibition of her prints in London late last summer. It looked shit then and it looks shit now.

DOes anyone notice a similarity to the mid-80's Sinclair C-5?

Hey,
ok for the comments but take it easy on the whining about her first try,

I think that it's interesting that architects are now considered global designers worth of bringing their touch + ideas to other markets.

Gehry is doing trophies, vodka bottles and jewellery
Hadid does furniture, hotel rooms and now cars...
Eisenman, Hadid, Nouvel and Morphosis did scenography

The Stararchitects keep opening up new grounds, we can follow in as well...

its not really new ground... Aalto designed pretty much everything.

Gotan, they can design what they want, but we can still say its shit, if we think its shit. just like any consumer.

I agree, still can say it's shit if shit it is. No prob!

and I agree too, that it's a bit funny that the zahamobile seems to go slower than the zahabuildings...

just wanted to post a ''balancing'' post to the flowing critics.

Please keep on whining...
Cheers!

gotan, no need to follow anyone, stararchitect or sunarchitect or whatever.
Just follow your own creativity, go straight to your own source.

hey nevermore, please nevermore weeping preaching like this.

a generation or 2 ago, with the coming of modernism Engineers stole a big chunk of the cake of what was the specialty of architects since medieval times.

Then the whining of the architect's started (as featuring in this thread)...a tendancy to drag down colleagues instead of praising those who rise above the mass.

What I want to say, (forget about the zahamobile for now), is that it's good that architects are now featured and praised on other fields as well. It's even good Brad Pitt friggin' dreams to be an architect...

When I started architecture (mid-90's), the profession was at it's lowest, only got better ever since...
so if Zaha is doing a car,
and Nouvel is doing dildos in Barcelona...
the future is bright!
