smart cars are legal here. sallie jesse raphael has one. she had to buy two. one for her and one for the government to do a crash test on. it passed so her car was allowed into the states. so they are legal just not imported.
Last I had heard they dont pass the enviormental emissions standards, or if they are uprgraded they are around $30,000, which to me totally defeats the whole purpose.
SMART talk about the weight and US regulations. It's true that the cars are light. My Roadster weighs in at a hefty 450kgs. Surely once you fill said car with a few hefy Americans then the weight issue will go away... or are the regulations for re-inforcing the frame to take you fatties?
best new car design you can afford on an architects salary?

Make friends with your Fast!

one person with lots of bulky hauling, small pickup.
people driving SUVs just look puzzling. hummer2's look the stupidest. (like a dumpster on shopping cart wheels)
s2000 is a great sleeper. looks like a nothing generic convertible. it's relative visuals remind me of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jensen-Healey
