I am wondering if you can all help me out. I'd like to know what size building one can put up without a building permit in different jurisdictions.
For example, in New Zealand and Australia, you can build up to 10m2 without consent, with some minor planning rules. Of course, if you add plumbing you need to get this permitted.
In Sweden you can build up a 15m2 building and 3m high without consent.
US varies by state as well as local municipality. Thus two adjacent properties, located in neighboring jurisdictions, may have two completely different sets of constraints and requirements.
Building Permit vs. Building Size
HI,
I am wondering if you can all help me out. I'd like to know what size building one can put up without a building permit in different jurisdictions.

What about the US, Canada, the UK and Europe?

i believe seattle's is 120 sf, but measured to eaves, not livable area.
Thanks,
The 10m2/100sqft seems reasonably common
