Work Experience with BFA
Hey I'm applying to Parsons for architecture. I know that the degree is not accredited by the NAAB. I am planning on getting a M.Arch. degree too.
However, i wanted to get some work experience before i get a M Arch degree. Will I be able to get a job with a BFA? or do you recommend that i continue to get my M Arch. as soon as I'm done with the BFA degree?
I hava BFA before my M Arch. I'm very glad I did. I did work before going back to get my master degree. Focus your BFA school work toward architectural projects and be open to all types of jobs from modelmaking to graphics to construction to renderings. Use you time to build experience before grad school.
Most definitely. I went to Otis for architecture. Now at GSAPP for M.Arch. Interned every summer since sophomore year and had a full time junior designer position during the one year between undergrad and grad school.
