circular-shaped residences

work for idle hands

big or small, nice or ugly (probably ugly), new or old, i don't care.....anyone know of any off hand...or know of any architects that gravitate towards residences with a circular or half circular perimeter shape?? i've racked my brain for an example of this but cannot think of any. Thanks.

In Somerville, MA, there's a round house built in the 1859's. It's really falling apart now, which is a shame.

From: http://www.somervilleartscouncil.org/resources/parks.html

The Round House
Arguably Somerville's coolest house! Inventor and locksmith Enoch Robinson built this 40-ft diameter round wooden house in 1856 at 36 Atherton Street. It has a domed central hall surrounded by circular and oval rooms. Unfortunately, this is a private home and is not open to the public.

There's also a sketch of it here:

I would say Bruce Goff and most of those who studied under him:
This is a fine example of a series of circular element.

You should also check out the Ford House in Aurora, Illinois. It is just west of Chicago.
