Most of our studio pin-up boards at UC were homasote, great stuff. Smells a bit when first installed, but great stuff. Good stand in for concrete / board-formed concrete on larger scale models too.
Th office in Philly where I worked had them, painted, so the smell wasn't an issue. I used Homasote a LOT in my thesis project, so maybe I'm just not sensitive to the smell? Or maybe their formula has changed since 21 years ago when I graduated (gulp).
i think if it is installed correctly in properly ventilated spaces it isn't an issue.
aaargh. i have a difficult professional decision to make and everyone who I could loosely call a "mentor" has some sort of stake in the decision I make so I can't get unvarnished opinions from any of them.
Perhaps I should consult the Flying Spaghetti Monster or pray to a bowl of pasta for some divine inspiration?
I'm furious about *why* I had to learn this word (damned busybody historic-fascist neighborhood orgs) but it's a word I think I'll toss out frequently when "What Style is This" threads pop up. Or I'll make up my own portmanteau styles, which would be FAR more fun in this crowd!
tintt, I really liked your comment on the queer space thread, thank you for that. I feel like I need to be quiet over there now, so I'll thank you here.
assuming that isn't some sort of euphamism, you should probably pick up a new one, tintt. I recently bought myself a laptop for writing (for $250 - what year is it again?) and i got one of the $10 Amazon basics mice to go with it - i have been pleasantly surprised with it 4 months in.
Josh - check out Conte di Savoia on Taylor street - house-made pasta they sell in big ol bags. I know it's house-made because a) i asked them b) it comes in nests, not as straight sticks.
The fresh stuff is a pasta-revelation in comparison to Barilla or whatever.

Never mind, I just found this project which is actually very lovely!

donna, we had them at my last office and the rooms they were in never smelled quite right. something to consider.

Send me an email, archanonymous! Archi-anonymously, of course.
Forbo / Marmoleum makes a tackable linoleum surfacs which i like very much. Handful of earthy colors as i recall
Sending positive Mac and cheese vibes your way, anonymous.
thanks tintt!
I set up a colander altar with some offerings last night, so hopefully i'll be struck with divine inspiration around meal-time today.

I learned the word "Tudorbethan" today.

our noodley creator smiles equally on all colors and flavors of sauce.
Peer unto it so that you may find the answers you seek.

I don't know what the fuck that shit is, but I hate it already.

Just realized.... I left my mouse in California.

Thanks for the tip, mous-archanony. Got one.
but arch, what about Tudorbethans?
i really prefer buildings done in the queen anneabellum style.
fuck this architecture shit. i am going to open a hipster craft making pasta place called "Tudorbethan Threads in Queen Annebellum Sauce"
Add the A and make it chocolate = Barococoa
Beaux Arts & Crafts?

Bruce Goff designed that?
Feeling defeated. Now that I work for an archinector, I can't womplain here about work anymore.
Kitty memes help.
tintt, I feel like an different kind of "angry cat" is refusing to enjoy a "catnip mouse" right now.
I've been prescribed a beer. Let's see if it works.
and no work till Monday ;)
8b has that weird voodoo...
"and no work till Monday" isn't what I am hearing elsewhere. Hmmm.
its up to you. says all pastafarians.
that's awesome Josh. I did too.

I make pasta (egg noodles) from scratch. It's easy.
Mmmm, green chili.
I've been writing a cookbook. Maybe we should have an archinector's cookbook? I'll make it.
I put bacon in the pasta I had. Mmmm.
Last IDP report submitted and approved... I'm done!
Congrats!
Olaf,
voodoo?
and astrology for sure.
Mercury is not in retrograde.
My horoscope says it should be a standout month for my career, but that other obligations will be pulling at me.
