I known I've told this story before, I mean I am certian I have, but it's Friday afternoon and I'm sitting in a cafe so I'm telling it again.
When I was at Cranbrook, Suzanna Torre came to visit and lecture. We hosted her for dinner in the arch department, potluck, made a bunch of pasta and whatnot and had a ton of booze. Dinner was served at the huge wooden conference room table leftover from the Libeskind days.
Some of my fellow students who happened to be extremely brilliant came up with the idea of covering the table with blueprint paper, then white paper as a "tablecloth". The lights were on in the room, plus candles, so the blueprint paper was being "exposed" during the course of the meal. Plates were moved, wine was spilled, one bowl of something everyone was scared to try sat immobile the whole night...
After the meal we left everything in place and turned on some photo lamps for a bit, then someone developed the blueprint paper the old-fashioned way: in a closed chamber next to a bowl of super-toxic ammonia.
The resulting record of the meal in blueprint was one of the most beautiful drawings I've ever seen. I wonder what ever happened to it.
It has been put on hold.. Wired Magazine couldn't get a date that worked. (story of my life) Looks like I'm doing the Cranbrook talk in September.
However I'll be at Central Michigan University on April 10th.
any thoughts on where to do a book launch party?
cheers,
Cameron

Cameron, I just got back from New Orleans. You should do your book launch party there. I'm not saying that it will be easy to find a hotel room, it just seems appropriate on so many levels. It was my first time there and I never realized how beautiful it was....I think the mission of AFH would resonate in the city right now.
Plus they like booze and they could use your money.
That's an acronym silly. If I would abbreviate I would say "Archy 4 Hums".
G&T is nice, but my personal signal would be more like:
BTW, can you tell where that little black image of you on top of the building is from (yes it's actually you)....they need to give me something to do at work, this is getting bad :)

cameron - did you get my email last week?

hi Steven,
didn't see the email.
I'd be up for a D-town book launch.. or at least a party.
Cheers
C.

I have a few days off in between the 2 talks . let me know when's good.
Cheers.
