Non-registered designer doing as-builts/remodels

clearlyambguous

Hello,

As a non-registered designer in Los Angeles, what are my limitations of service to freelance when doing residential as-builts and remodel planning? Obviously I cannot sign for structural loads/calculations, but how will the drawings differ between plans to be submitted for permitting, and those just for reference? Am I able to hand off my drawings to a contractor/engineer for them to submit for review/plan check?

Thanks!

drums please, Fab?

read the architect's practice act

section 5537 - basically you can do:

-SFR wood frame construction (2-story + basement)

-4 dwelling units, wood frame construction (2-story + basement)

-garages and other buildings for SFR (2-story + basement)

-ag buildings and ranch buildings and stuff

some homeowner's associations require an architect but pretty much you're good to go.  now send some work my way, bro!
