Red Sox will win again. because that's what they do these days. win. anyway, my roommate and I broke the Curse in 2003 during the ALCS when the Sox were beating the Yankees in game 7 and my roommate opened up a bottle of Nantucket Nectars that I had bought. The cap is in the photo below. Needless to say, it had to be destroyed so it did not roll over to the next year, and in 2004 they won. And will do so again this year. So Chicago.

Manteno -- are the folks up on Clark rooting for the Cards? I always imagined if it came down to the WSox and the Cards, Cubs fans would go with the devil they know versus the one they don't -- though interleague play has changed this a bit I suppose, I still imagine Cubs fans respect the rivalry with STL and have a good deal of fun with it. Love it when those Cubbies are down here, great games no matter the score.

I can't speak for others, but if it came down to ChiSox vs. Cards in the series, I (a lifelong Cubs fan) would be pulling for the hometown team.

Granted, I'd rather take a ballpoint pen to the eyeball, but......


Also, gotta say, never had as much fun at a baseball game as I had at a Cubs/Cards series in St. Louis last season. What a blast. Haven't been able to afford tickets to a crosstown series yet, though.

when i was 9, my older brother got into a fight with my dad about who was gonna win the then cross town classic... my brother was a sox fan, and my dad a cubs fan...
since i was 9, and idolized my brother, and also understood that choosing the sox would piss off my dad, and score points with my older bro... the choice was simple

and i have been suffering ever since...

you can put it on the boaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard. i loved watching the sox in the postseason the squeeze bunt was tremendous. unfortunately, i cant stand their everyday announcing crew and was unable to watch their gn and comcast games. exciting team though, unlike the northsiders.

Lets face it Red Sox fans (I'm one of 'em too):
1. Our pitching staff was no where close to where it was last year.
2. The batting hasn't been that consistant against teams with high quality pitching staffs. The White Sox have a good bullpen.

I love the BoSox to death, but did you really think they'd be able to pull it off this year?

well, lletdownl, bring it on -- the Cards WILL win the series this year, and it will make a splendid end to the "old" Busch Stadium (they're tearing it down after this season, and the new stadium is already half built). The Sox making it to the series at all is quite an acomplishment that shouldn't be overlooked or disregarded. But here we have a team (Cards) that were in the series last year and currently have the best record in baseball. If they do lose to the WSox, it'll make a great story -- second winningest team in baseball history loses 2 years in a row to Sox that haven't since WWI. Regardless, it'll be a great series -- but which nobody outside the MW will care about. Sucks for them I think.

As one of the famously ambivalent Atlanta Braves fans I can tell you guys this: YOU'RE GOIN' DOWN!!! American League!!! And 15,000 Braves fans every World Series game will taunt you like the sleepy corporate roundboys that other Major League towns envy.
