These three games have been damn close and could have gone either way. I'm suprised that the sox have come out on top all three times.
lletdownl - The Astros have been morally superior in this series thus far.
Bagwell and Thomas are both injured. They have both played for their corresponding teams since the beginning, this is their first and only world series to go to. The Astros are playing Bagwell. A respectable thing to do as a teams iconic player even if it isn't the smartest competitive decision. The same can not be said for the Sox.
Morals? I think the Astros are being nice to Bagwell, but also feel that he can contribute. I'm sure if the Sox felt Thomas could contribute they would play him. But, you don't know the extent of his injury. Only the clubhouse does. Plus, these games are highly competitive and not insignificant so the "Rudy Factor" does not apply here.
Round-trip transit fare on the CTA Red Line: $3.50
One bottle of Old Style beer: $2.50 + tip
Being part of a rain-soaked celebratory mob filling the intersection of 35th and Halsted until Chicago police in full riot gear come to break it up: Priceless.

BigAaron, fantastic pick...

i can not believe the sox are up 2-0 in the WORLD SERIES!!!!!!
this might be the end of the world
i think its actually in the bible
"and god said, on the 1,009,894,219,294th day, the sox of white will win the world series, and then thats it, ill blow the world up"
ver batum
Don't you guys remember the Astros' uniforms from the 70s? Bleh....
Great game last night...I just want the stros to push it to 6 so the Sox can win in Commisky....er....the Cell....
Yeh, what a gay name for a baseball field.
all the baseball stadiums are gay now, how sad
although wrigley field is still the world's largest gay bar
how true that is
i need to buy one of those shirts
3-0. It's all but over.
In the words of Darth Vader, "All too easy."
that was a long one. thank you blum for bringing it to an end.
The headline on today's Red Eye summed it up best:
TEXAS TOAST
i feel bad for the astros...
but its unfair to think any team could hang with the white sox
we are physically mentally and morally superior
ironically theres more mullets being sported on the White Sox right now than the Astro's...It truely is the end of times
More losers coming out of Texas. Glad to see GWB isn't alone
what a ignorant dumba$$ thing to say salmon.
