I am in a similar situation Crumpets. The Hip Hotels series isn't bad.
If you visit your local book store you can find coffee-table books full of pictures and scant descriptions of tropical island resorts. I usually am too embarassed to buy them in person, So I write the names down and return to my office where I can order them on-line with my bosses credit card, remaining detached from the whole thing as much as possible...;)
ditto. the Hip Hotels or XXXX (adj.) Hotels series isn't bad but it seems to cover too much about the interiors rather than exteriors. I think they have an asia edition of the book. check amazon.

Tropical Island Resorts Book?
Does anyone know of a good book that covers resorts (or other buildings) on tropical islands, preferably in the South Pacific?
Please do not ask why...it is too embarrassing. Thanks.
I saw a copy of 'Hip Hotels' in a client's office the other day. it wasn't bad, actually & had a lot of Asian & Pacific based resorts.
