I like Daylight. It has some great essays and some amazing photography to go with them. The format of the magazine (roughly 8" x 8") is what I based my portfolio format on.
subscribed to 3 spanish magazines (Arquitectura Viva, Pasajes de Arquitectura & Tectonica), my boss receives his Architectural Review monthly and I check it out frequently, then I read from time to time Metropolis and Arch Record from the US, Domus from Italy, A10 from Holland, A+U from Japan, 2G and a+t from Spain, Detail from Germany, Quaderns from Catalonia, L'Architecture d'Aujourd'Hui from France, and maybe some others..
and all kinds of things through the net... some on-line magazines like Materia and things like the british Gabion.. I used to read some RIBA's on-line zines like World Architecture and Building when they were free-acces, but now you have to register.. those were really good and pretty interesting, specially Building, which had great articles about european architecture...
i wish i could afford el croquis and detail. for some reason i am still getting arch record, but i don't remember ordering it anymore. i think my uncle is sending it to me. dwell ran out on me, and i dont even care. the add to article ratio was way off. i wish i had lars' list coming to my mailbox.
e-...it's an addiction really...
i usually sit in a coffee shop somewhere and go
through them all about once or so a month...
for most of the fashion magazines i'm just
looking at the pictures for inspiration for my paintings...
oh...and i'm not working as an architect right now
so i get to leave the office at 6 every day...except
fridays when i get to leave at 3...so that helps
magazines.
what magazines, if any, do you subscribe to or read frequently - architecture or otherwise?
