Working for Industry

A&A

I'm curious to hear people's thoughts regarding working as a Facade Designer for a Facade fabricator. Good to do for a couple years?

Rusty!

By facade you mean curtainwalls and storefronts/all-glass assemblies? As opposed to metal panels or some other manufactured composite?

Friend of mine did that (curtainwalls) for a few years and eventually jumped back into architecting. Architects that hired him found his experience extremely useful (large institutional and corporate projects). And he didn't get pigeonholed in just doing that. He was just the go-to guy for designing certainwalls. Not the worst component to be in charge of.
