Fort Pulaski at Savannah is one of my favorite buildings. I'd like a house like that. Parties on the grass roof, etc. When house guests stay too long, throw their luggage in the moat, and then laugh all day. Tis the good life.

I wish they would make some more paczki's for today's celebrations.

Bonus points if you know the "correct" (read:americanized) pronunciation.

In the morning when you finally go
And the nurse runs in with her head hung low
And the cardinal hits the window

In the morning in the winter shade
On the first of March on the holiday
I thought I saw you breathing

in kentucky, pulaski day is 11 oct. we have a county named for him.

a good friend of mine is head of the kentucky pulaski society or something, but only because the post was open.

my friend also plays accordion.

and he looks like one of the founding fathers - or sam the eagle, take your pick.

Yay Pulaski! I grew up in Chicago and remember celebrating this holiday in grade school, but still have no idea what it's about or what we were celebrating.
