For me it I prefer to have a sample portfolio 3-4 pages. Number and types of projects depends on the firm I'd be applying to.
On a side note - a 50+ page portfolio seems to be large. I've been working for 20 years and my portfolio is around half that. Then again it's all built work, glossy picture type stuff.
Sample Portfolio vs Full Portfolio
Just a question for some of you:
Some firms require a sample portfolio instead of sending 50+ pages of portfolio.
For the people that have a sample portfolio, how many projects do you put in it, and how many pages is your sample portfolio.
