If you don’t own your own firm, how much business are you required to bring in each year versus utilization? At my current firm, my goal is $500k/year and I have to be billable 75% of the time. Remaining 25% of my hours go to BD and some overhead for mentoring younger staff/firm management.

You're in the right ballpark. If anything, your 75% billable is high. I would expect that out of a PM.
