Looks like a kid put a gable roof on his duplo stack.

Anyone know where I can read more about simplistic gable roof houses? I feel like I always see the same or similar designs that mostly only vary in scale and cladding. It’s like the coloring book of architecture, start with a gabled roof if you want to explore materiality and go after some design awards. I feel like this is a really ignorant stance, though, so I've always been a bit hesitant to bring it up here, but I really would like to read or talk more about why it’s such a common parti.
I like this one

Most concrete homes look cold, but this one looks warm.
The parts with a lot of wood look warm, anyway ;-)

I like the kitchen sink.
Every time I see a concrete slab for a floor, I think about how much my back hurts after standing on concrete all day.
What a beam!
At least they didn't hang bricks off the beam to make an ironic comment about materials.
The wood and the sunny hillside scenery makes it looks warm. I like it too, minimalistic and spacey.
Must be from all that wood they're using.
