Objective and critical Architecture/Design publications?

0L0ID

I'm looking for a magazine or a journal that isn't as much a showcase of projects and products, but more about critical take on the profession, academia, where the field is going, and how the world at large is affecting it.

I prefer printed publications. RIght now I am subscribed to Metropolis, which is pretty good but I feel it's still more of the Former than the latter.

As far as online examples go, I guess a good one from the UK  is https://www.bdonline.co.uk/, some of their columns are directly tied to what is going on in the news right now. I'm wondering if there is a good US equivalent?

Thank you all!

We have a lot of that type of editorial here on Archinect. If you're looking for print, in particular, check out Ed, our print publication.

The Architectural Review is probably the most critically engaged architectural publication there is; that I know of at least. I would also recommend LA+ Journal: it's from a landscape architecture perspective but very useful.
