I have always struggled to manage the file size of my portfolio, even though it's not a particularly large document in terms of number of pages. Additionally, from day one of architecture school professors drilled it into our heads to NEVER rasterize linework. Is it actually okay to convert pdfs to high quality image files? Also, if I'm putting my portfolio together in indesign, doesn't the porgram rasterize all pdfs anyway? Thanks
First, make sure your line work is as clean as can be: no overlapping double lines and be careful when doing a Make2D from Rhino, show the right things at the right scale level and don't put too much detail in your drawings.
it's fine to rasterize if the result is adequate for normal viewing. no one cares about the details in a portfolio they just want a sense what you're capable of.

Rasterizing drawing files to control digital portfolio size?
