Any knowledge of storm-proof structures out there ? what elements would make a structure storm -proof  ?

Magic helps... but best way to storm proof construction is not to build in an area prone to violent storms and or weather.

FEMA has some resources on multi-hazard construction. This relates to wind and flood resistance (that you are looking for) and earthquake resistance.

Straw huts are easily replaced. And biodegradable.

mayans knew and built accordingly, all the stone structures around the Caribbean were just bases to rebuild with wood and leafs after hurricanes.

Exactly. Indigenous architecture - now largely extinct - evolved in response to climate conditions and environment. But modern man doesn't need to worry about those things.

Of coarse you can.  But it's pointless for all but critical nature buildings.  Examples might be underground with redundant systems, etc.  Norad... but the views would suck along with a hundred other things making it a horrible place to live.

I've also heard of missile silo conversions... in Nebraska.
