We know you have some favorite bands - or even a single favorite band, but can you think of a singular favorite song that stands above all others - currently - - - or for all time?
. . . For me it would be 'to be over', a Yes song from 1974. It's been stuck in my head for 20 years now! (but not in a bad way).
i was just napping as is my normal sunday routine and had a dream that lou reed was playing drums while talking to morley safer on 60 minutes. must ve been a dream cuz the show aint on yet...my life was saved by rock n roll
abracadabra, I just checked out King Crimson, and he's very good, I like it a lot. Satie is also good.
For relaxing music I also like Bach (classical), Beanfield (atmospheric) or the Morning View album by Incubus, Dido, Usher, Norah Jones, Radiohead (and I could go on forever here).
When my heart rate needs to speed along to get a project done, or when I feel like driving really fast I listen to Drum & Bass. Artists like LTJ Bukem, AK1200, Diesel Boy or James Ruskin. It also seems like great summer music - I always find myself listeing to D&B more in the summer with the roof of the car down.
Manson and Korn get played sometimes on bad days.
For feel good music it's always some combination including Weezer, the Beatles, Van Morrison, Futureheads, Jurassic 5, Greenday, Jet, OutKast, and tons more...
OMG! that was so terrible!
WHY DID THEY DO THAT!?
that poor man who received the award had to sing it when he went up so people who didn't see the movie could really know that it didn't suck so bad!
i also wanted to give props on the king crimson and satie.
i was first exposed to king crimson when i saw them open for tool once. now i think it should have been the other way around
Interpol - the entire turn on the bright lights album I like stella, obstacle 1, NYC, Slow hands
sat night I went to an Interpol concert (with blonde redhead opening). They were extremely good live. the crowd went crazy!! ahhhh Carlos d and Paul Banks!
Just start with these few songs. Then, get ready to hear these next very spectacular all time hits:
*Pift Fit (ain't your corn)
*Rider's Cup (goodbye tonko, wait, don't go)
*Curt Clift (aromol)
These are some real classics. You'll for sure have a good time hearing these things. Also, you will remember them for years. They will enrich your life. Everyone says it.
Here are some lyrics from that great Ench song, "rifter's porch":
"it's just rifter's porch, that's it
some rifter come 'round
and they go off then, on rifter
clip on it
plint on it
it's rifter
setting out
on a shaky tin
go out on those lego legs
go on, marathon"
This stuff is just real insightful and I'd argue that it's downright great. I hope you enjoyed just this little sampling, this little taste, of a classic song.

have you ever heard the super-early Cave-In stuff? They were metal-core, which was an interesting transition to where they are now.
'the girl from ipanema'
Britney Spears, and nothing but.
Actually it really depends on the day/mood.
