IDP - work setting for design-build firm

bs1105

Curious if anyone knows what work setting a design-build architecture firm falls into?

From what I can gather, if the firm encompasses all aspects of Architecture (IDP training requirement categories) it is considered Setting A.

Any and all insight is appreciated.

I'm also working for a Design-Build firm...I think you answered your own question, as long as you have licensed, practicing architects involved in the design-build process then it qualifies as work setting A.

Thanks for that info.  Given NCARB's poor communication reputation, thought I would see if others were gaining credits.

Are you currently gaining IDP credits while employed in the design build firm ?

I am, I work in the design side of the company and my supervisor is a registered architect. NCARB hasn't denied anything yet so I'll keep my fingers crossed that it continues to count. Design-build firms are a great way to knock out hours, especially on the CA side.
