Not sure what you've checked out yet... but the internet has been suffering over the last two weeks from a Browser Hijack Object that's essentially a Google Analytics Redirect Trojan.
The trojan apparently tries to redirect traffic every time anything from google analytics, adsense or akamai is opened.
I.e, Your sites advertisements try to load their relevant ad content through a redirect portal. The virus interrupts that redirect and tries to re-redirect to another ad services.
It happened about around December of 2007 and brought down a large chunk of the web. Wouldn't be surprised if this is a partial problem.
