KPA was retained to renovate both the interiors and exteriors of Mall Saint Vincent, with the goal of re-positioning the shopping complex as the premier retail destination in Northwest Louisiana. Originally built in the 1960’s, this property was designed around a double loaded corridor, with limited attention on the exterior facade. Consequently, the facade’s identity was limited to loading and service areas along the entire perimeter. KPA’s proposal was to transition the mall into a Lifestyle Center with a concentration of outlet stores. Comprised of 57 stores, and two primary anchors, the introduction of pedestrian friendly storefronts and sidewalk cafés were a welcome change. In addition, KPA designed a new, bold identity for MSV, with a dynamic facade, green walls and water features. The interior extends this theme, with an indoor pond surrounded by extensive seating and lounge areas. The combination of outlet and lifestyle center created a synergy that marked the property as a destination, while maintaining a strong customer base among the residents in the immediate neighborhood.
