The overall campus planning strategy for the Baidu Science and Technology Campus by ZNA Architects consists of the ecological park and circular Main Street.  By consolidating the green space, we try to achieve the maximized building boundary to benefit from views of the surrounding park while creating a grand gesture for the space itself.  In addition to creating a highly efficient and flexible office building, we designed a unique but diverse circular main street to connect different work spaces such as; studying, meeting, leisure, recreation and F&B areas to form a community center.  This solution for an ecological park not only serves for the self recognition of the Baidu staff and Baidu team but also conveys the expectation of the general public to the image of Baidu for the community. The ring around the sunken space forms a botanical garden that provides the experiences of different scenes in different seasons. At the same time it is a show piece of eco technology through landscape architecture.  Along the circular street we allocate a variety of workspaces that share resources while concentrating on gathering and collaborating along with flexibility and adaptation. This highly efficient project encourages internal communication through its planning strategy.
