Tucked away within the Los Padres National Forest, the Lassen Residence sits at a 6,000-foot elevation, and was home for world-renowned architect, Gwynne Pugh (of Gwynne Pugh Urban Studio). Pugh installed roll up doors with the idea of bringing the forest and stunning surroundings into the home. Additionally a metal, standing seam roof was introduced to have snow to quickly shed off the roof. Built on a flag lot, the home incorporates large decks, outdoor rooms, and a viewing tower additionally meant to capture the magnificent outdoors. With 2500 square feet and high ceilings, the home was able to comfortably accommodate large volumes of people, and was used primarily for events and as a large family gathering space.
