JASBERRY HOME OFFICE: A Reflection of Lifestyle
[Building a Home with Jasberry]
A home is a place where humans dwell. This statement is undeniably true. But beyond being a mere dwelling, what else can a home be? The JASBERRY HOME OFFICE is a project that serves as both a residence and an office for the owner of an organic Jasberry rice business, hence the name. The design concept is rooted in simplicity, mirroring the owner's business philosophy of supporting local farmers rather than profit maximization.
[Tropical Architecture with a Modern Twist]
Given the nature of the business, mArchten proposed a tropical architectural style with a wooden exterior. However, for reasons of durability and low maintenance, a substitute material was used. The house features a gable roof and linear elements on windows and balconies, complemented by green spaces such as small terraced gardens, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere that mitigates any sense of heaviness.
[Systematic Spatial Organization]
The interior is designed with a clear separation between the office and residential areas. The east side houses a staircase for employees, while the west side features the main staircase and elevator for the homeowner, leading to the third floor. The first and second floors are primarily dedicated to the office, including a parking area, company reception, and a storage room for products. The second floor houses the main office and a kitchen for food preparation and product photography.
[Open and Inviting]
The highlight of this building is the third floor, which seamlessly blends two functions. This level serves as a semi-outdoor rooftop for Jasberry employees to relax, while also connecting to the homeowner's living room, allowing for occasional interactions between the two groups. Additionally, the design team chose to surround the central area of this floor with glass walls that can be opened to allow for ventilation, while still providing protection from rain.
[A Truly Personal Space]
The interior design of this home office reflects the owner's lifestyle and the company's vision. From the living room to the upstairs bedrooms, the design emphasizes simplicity, reflecting a sense of humility and modesty. The interior style and furniture choices complement the exterior, primarily using white and wood, with slightly softer wood tones for a warmer feel.
As demonstrated, a beautiful home can be infused with personal identity without compromising aesthetics or functionality. This is precisely the approach that mArchten embraces. Here, we harness our knowledge and expertise to transform your ideas into tangible architecture.
