This 5000 SF apartment is the only duplex in the Trump International Hotel & Tower. Lightness and transparency were the main concepts within this renovation project. The existing staircase was replaced with a glass one supported by curved steel plates; this has become a focal point to the apartment as it functions as a connector from one space to another and allows more fluidity. The design treated the apartment more as a loft typical to a TriBeCa or SoHo neighborhood rather than an apartment in the upper west side.

The material palette used in the design was kept minimal in the main spaces - not just in color but in selection. These spaces were finished with burnished concrete for the floors and the main curved wall. The bathrooms were treated with a more colorful and rich palette, making use of glass terrazzo and waterproof wood panels.
