Marjetica Potrč uses her philosophy of cities and her understanding of human creativity to create alternative ways of life, as seen in her work Solar Shack, now part of the permanent collection of Institut Valencià D’Art Modern. Solar Shack, her first structure in which the visitor can enter, functions by solar energy, so that the pavilion doors open at sunrise and close at sunset. In fact, the sensitivity of the photovoltaic cells could be used to set the system in such a way that the doors would close and open with the passing of a cloud.
