The created poem is a product of a collage of ideas from different folklore elements based on historical events, such as the Miao rebellion , uprisings of the Miao people from 1854–1873 during the reign of the Qing dinasty. The uprising was a result of tensions between Han and Miao. The triptih for the narrative is a collage of pictures from the topography of the village to different existing houses and the main square in the village.
