This project is the transformation of a master suite in an existing home. The design direction was to reimagine the outdated 1,400sf space and incorporate lighting as a central element. Program requirements included a bathroom with dry sauna and free-standing tub, two walk-in closets, office, and TV lounge.
The entrance to the suite is through custom floor-to-ceiling steel and glass doors that open directly across from a smoked-oak Poliform closet. Light coves draw your eye to the ceiling, casting a serene glow and promoting a sense of space.
The bathroom features a sculptural free-standing tub highlighted by light coves that disappear into a skylight. A linear vanity, floating cabinet, and illuminated mirror compose three volumes suspended artfully on a grey tile wall, an installation that promotes a sense of lightness and calm.
The focal point of the room is the shower wall composed of stone slab—a multicolored abstract displayed in an illuminated floor-to-ceiling niche. Surrounding walls are clad in large-format white porcelain, enhancing the effect of the stone as art.
In the bedroom, lighting becomes art. Recessed light boxes on the wall and illuminated floating nightstands activate the double-height space.
