April 2014
After assisting with the operation of fabricating 40+ chairs for my school's local Alpha Rho Chi Chapter Numisius, I noticed the leftover material, and began designing a bench with the waste from the CNC machine. Once planed, cut, and laminated, I began to sand the gentle curve that contrasts the curve from the chair. Although sitting on a curve is not very comfortable, the wood gave me the necessary width and a flat plane on the reverse for the seat. The next part was to provide a support that did not diminish the bottom curve.
