    sorry for the long blackout

term 1 has ended and term 2 is about to start and its basically been a big blur of activity.

the drl has underwent a few changes with a tutor leaving and two new ones coming in and parametric urbanism ending and a new agenda starting.

term1 was split into two workshops where you're given the choice of tutor and the group you want to work with, each tutor brings a separate topic to the workshop, sooner or later you realize you're basically taking up arms with one or two of them to start to understand their opinions and leanings in order to know which one to go for in the long run (final studio). The whole term your playing catch up with readings and software tutorials with programs like massive being introduced as well as trying to figure out who works best for you in terms of a tutor and team mates.

the first workshop under theo spyropoulos was meant to work with concepts of material computation through a relatively 'dumb' material such as plaster being cast in a fabric formwork similar to the work of mark west in canada.

we were also being advised by rob stuart smith from kokkugia and arups AGU so there was a strong structural component to the work as well, the projects were carried in collaboration with the experimental design unit in the royal college of arts as well as some chelsea art students so it was an interesting mix.

anyways more stuff to come from term two in more detail hopefully especially with the phase 2 parametric urbanism 3 final review coming up in a few days with guests like stan allen, lars spuybroek, don bates and perhaps kipnis along with the london crowd should be an interesting two day session (22 and 23 of jan in AA main lecture hall)

VERY BEAUTIFUL!! I did some fabric formed concrete/plaster work with Sheila Kenned in a studio a few years back and i know how difficult it can be to work with. you have developed a really nice command of the medium!
