    When school starts to fade

So this semester, i started my FINAL project. It'll take a year, and we've got a sketch of a theme. Public usage buildings in downtown, and during the theorical aspect of this we are studying Mies and Le Corbusier, followed by a trip to Brazil in May to see large scale public buildings in concrete. All this mumbo jumbo seems pretty interesting, but what have i done so far this semester? It's been 2 months and all i've done is read a couple of books. Nothing else. So i decided to start drawing Mies. Lake Shore Dr Apartments... I finished the floor plan, and i will dig on the Mies Archieves this week to find any details about it. I found myself on a position on which i need to learn. And it'll be trough detailed drawings. I do this because i think that contemporary architecture, like OMA, is the same as Modern Architecture, being Mies. I still cant tell how, but soon i will. It sucks that i dont get to be much time around school so i decided to take a 2nd year CAD/CAM class. And i'll premiere this: im working on this years Chilean Arch Biennale. It's gonna be a kickass job with me and the rest of the guys from Plataforma Networks kickin' it! Our arch and urban blogs have had some local success, so that's why we got chosen for the biennale. But anyway...i miss school. All those BBQs, drinking beer in the wamr afternoons... now in my 6th year, i dont know anyone at school!. It's time to go back to the good old times and spend more time at school.

ah david, I wish I had had more BBQ's - alas I only had one at my current school (in 4th yr) and about three on Erasmus (in three months)

      That says something...sniff

I ahve had lots and lots of beer though :-)

I have one year left, time to have some fun I think!

We had a lady from one of the Havana schools over recently talking to us about the city, it was enlightening, a very interesting city I think. Good luck with the Biennale.

      Hola David,

I am an architecture student in London, and I was in Venice for the 2006 biennale. I was there with my school and couldn't get to Chile's display. Como soy Chilena, I wanted information on its presence in the Biennale. Do you have any leftover papers, or information? I would be happy to pay for the post cost.
I hope this gets to you, Gracias y buena suerte!
