This is a project I followed through from initial design to construction. The challenge of this project is that the house was listed as historical heritage building. Any exterior renovation design will need to respect the building’s original character and gain the supports of the city heritage committee. Ironically, the clients had an affection for modern design, and wanted to  rebuild the worn-out carport and canopy to reflect their recent modern renovation on the interior. They also wanted a new design of the front yard landscaping to open up the driveway, as it is currently on an acute angle, making it very difficult to park. 

• Thorough site study and measurement including bylaw and code researching
• Created conceptual design, built 3D models SketchUp (was chosen to be the final design)
• Attended client meetings and revised design base on client’s budget.
• Prepared Building Permit drawings and documents in AutoCAD
• Gained approval from the Heritage Committee and successfully persuaded the Committee of Adjustment for minor variances necessary to the design.
• Prepared construction drawings, specifications and contract documents
• Attended site meetings, inspections and respond to site issues, payment inquiries.. etc.
