The first issue of Figures acts as opening statement. In contrast to the website, the printed publication serves as a platform for a more careful, direct, and intimate examination of a smaller handful of work. The book provides a glimpse into each contributor’s personal rhetoric and the processes involved in their creative practice.

Fig. 01 features an introductory essay by Perry Kulper as well as drawings and writing by Tom Ngo, Catrina Stewart, Jesen Tanadi, Olalekan Jeyifous, and Perry Kulper.
