In this subject we studied the work of Tadao Ando to determine the formal ideas in his designs. The brief for our design was a public boathouse with a cafe, restaurant and rental facilities within the city. My design separates the functions of the boat house into two separate wings that reflect the row of existing boathouses. My boat house enhances and expands the cultural hub of Melbourne by including four key things Melbourne is known for: the Yarra, sport, food and art.
