About

I have a strong interest in thoughtful, responsive design that contributes positively to society and reflects the vibrant communities around it. I aspire to design spaces that evoke an emotional response through the experience of curated moments. Through architecture, I want to create spaces that both inspire and comfort people, while also respecting and enhancing the priceless, natural world around us.

I love to travel as it allows you to observe different ways of living and the influence that this has on the architecture that societies build. There are always multiple ways to approach a problem and by combining different perspectives and keeping an open mind we are able to create unique responses for each situation.

I am always trying new things creative and active when I'm not studying or working, whether it is taking a ceramics class or going for an overnight hike with friends. I love trying my hand a new skills, its so important to keep learning and being flexible, and its just as important meeting different people in all different areas.

Employment

Coy Yiontis Architects, Melbourne, AU, Intern

In this practice I have been exposed to much of the architectural process from initial consultation to media publications. This involved measuring up properties and creating the existing drawings and models. I have learnt much about the specification process and client-architect communications. I have been tasked with assisting in ensuring accuracy and clarity in the documentation stage of projects.

Education

The University of Melbourne, Melbourne, AU, BArch, Environments - Major Architecture

Throughout my studies I have developed designs for pavilions and schools as well as using digital fabrication to create bespoke installations. In my studies I have been motivated and achieved outstanding results with effort, dedication and ability to understand what is required of me. My subjects covered, design studios, construction and structural systems, architectural history and breadth subjects such as life drawing and positive psychology that really enhanced my education within university and in my daily life. My work has been chosen for display in the end of semester exhibits from four of my subjects including my design for my capstone studio and the model from my final construction subject which I won an award for. I loved my time in my bachelors degree work both individually and in a team creating work I am proud of.
