The objective of the Core Project competition was to identify creative "big ideas" to revitalize the town of Sebastopol, California.

The proposed solution used the form of the city and typical patterns of use to create a bicycle and pedestrian corridor, or Ciclovia, that enveloped the city center while engaging planned developments and underutilized properties, which would function as catalysts projects. A set of guiding themes was developed to ensure sustainable "human-scale" development, while leaving flexibility for innovative and eclectic growth. 

The project was awarded a Special Citation in Bicycle Excellence from the Core Project Committee.
