a project for bunny friend

bunny friend neighborhood of the upper ninth ward,
new orleans, was in need of a place to begin the
long process of rebuilding their community. after
the devestation of hurricane katrina, the local
community rallied to organize and build a place
that would anchor the lives of those faced with
such a terrible disaster.


the design seeks to visually align the vernacular
aesthetic of the upper ninth ward with a 21st
century approach to living in an “underwater city”.
practical concerns regarding the inevitability of
another storm underscored a pragmatic response.
